Demographic change in the newly formed German states

The care of elder and needy people becomes the focus of attention even in the newly formed German states. The average age is rising and many young people went to the western states to find a job. That is why many elder people are and will be dependent on the assistance of strangers and care facilities.

In May a conference for operators and caregivers of care facilities was arranged for the first time, together with the 'Pflegemesse Rostock', where numerous professional enterprises showed their products and accomplishments.

ODM exhibited its furniture of the ReGerO-Concept, especially designed for elder people who have impaired mobility due to their advanced age, as well as for people with damaged musculoskeletal systems.

The interest of the professional visitors was larger than expected. Even in the newly formed German states the competition between the care facilites is strong. This is the reason why operators have to offer more convenience services to inhabitants and their relatives, who often grant a bonus for attractive outdoor facilities.

ODM seats, tables and loungers were admired not only for their design but primarily for their target-group-specification.
