The importance of air traffic is increasing in our globalized world. Germany as economically advanced nation with its central location in Europe has special significance. Economy is dependant on exports and continuing contacts to other states.
Frankfurt Airport has constantly adjusted its capacity to the demands in order to match the competitive ability. Today Frankfurt Airport is one of the 10 largest airports in the world.
More than 50 million passengers start and land in Frankfurt in one year, more than half of them only for stopovers.
The well-being of passengers is very important for the responsible persons of the airport. Arrival and departure terminals parking blocks and stops of public transports are close together to ensure short ways. A clear infrastructure and 10.000 employees care for the guests.
Near by the gates at the bus terminals are rest areas where air travellers can relax on ODM benches while waiting for further transportation.
20 years ago the first ODM benches had been installed at terminal one. The stationary multi-seater benches of the model range B 300 had been placed in a sheltered area and offered seats for many air passengers while waiting for the busses.
Over that long period the benches only showed signs of usage which did not affect the substance of the models. Thanks to the careful surface treatment with hot-dip galvanization, corrosion had no chance. After 20 years the benches still looked attractive and cleaning of the surfaces was no problem.
The responsible persons of the Fraport AG were very satisfied and replaced the furniture by the same models in summer 2011. The fact that ODM offers its model ranges for such large periods of time enables replacements or supplements at any time.
The large satisfaction with products of ODM resulted in the equipment also of the bus stations at terminals 1 and 2 with ODM benches B 300. Suitable to the surrounding and due to the location in the open, benches of stainless steel were chosen to offer more protection.
The look of the benches harmonizes with the facade of the contemporarily designed terminals 2.
